Club Points
Annual Points
All events promoted by MGCC (Auckland) including Easter are eligible for points. In addition, several invitation events are also eligible, for which notice will be given in the MaG and on the website.
General
  • The Club competition year is from July 1 to June 30.
  • If an organiser or marshal competes, then he or she gets the competition points only.
  • Points for MG (Rhubarb), T-Type, A-type and individual event trophies are based on points gained whilst competing. Organisers points don’t count, except in the case of trials trophies where organisers points will be credited where applicable.
  • MG Specials and Replicas do no get full MG trophy points.
  • Where there is more than one organiser, each shares the points awarded to the organiser plus marshals. Eg A trial with two organisers, 40 points (organiser) plus 20 points (marshal) = 60 points to share between them, ie 30 points each.
  • For trials, all crew members get full points. For economy runs, crew get full points.
  • In addition to competitively earning points, if you introduce a new member to the club, you are eligible to receive 25 points for your efforts so long as your name appears on his/her application.
  • Attendance at Clubnight also earns you 10 points if your name is written on to the register available at Clubnight.
  • Appropriate entry or marshal points are awarded to team members or marshals for interclub team events organised by other clubs.
  • For reasons of space it is not possible to publish complete lists of all points scorers in each edition of the MaG but we do the best we can showing as many as possible. If you have any queries concerning your points, contact the Club Captain.

Trophies
While our main emphasis is on low key, fun competitions, the Club also has a wide range of trophies for various types of events and classes. Trophies for Speed Events, Motorkhanas etc are all self explanatory. A brief description and history of the Club’s trophies follows:

The ROGER ANDERSON TROPHY – Awarded to the highest overall points gained over they Club year in any make of car. Roger Anderson is now a life member of the Club; he used to own a red Midget and was quite a motorkhana expert.

The RHUBARB MEMORIAL TROPHY – This award is presented to the member who has earned the most points competing with and MG in events throughout the year. It is in the form of a red model MGB in a Perspex case. The original car, named ‘Rhubarb’, was owned by former Club Captain John Arkley and was rolled at a Club Hillclimb at Bald Hill Rd in 1972. Spectators took up a collection to help John pay for the damage, but he decided to use the money to create this award.

The LADIES TROPHY and LADIES MG CUP – Are similar to Overall and Rhubarb but for lady competitors only. Of course ladies are eligible for all other trophies too. The 69-70 Committee Trophy for highest ladies overall is the best trophy, being not only solid silver but also Octagonal.
