But hardy souls in 58 MG's turned up to fly the MG flag on the Green, with 12 cars looking polished and ready for the Concours judging. It was great to see James and Valerie Smith up from Rotorua in their 'C', and Peter Young coming to his first MGCC event in his RV8. Three members of the public also came down to join in.
Congratulations to Jennie and Andrew Walbran for winning the Concours, with Charles Tisdall and his lovely 'B' and Peter Young in his 'RV8' coming a close second equal. Also congrats to Jan and Shoshi de Zoete for picking up the Peoples Choice prize. They do capture the spirit of our Christmas Concours as it is intended. Have a picnic, invite a load of friends to have a load of fun, and of course, vote! A hint for future participants perhaps? Thanks to all who came along, and to those that helped on the day, including the sausage sizzle chefs (although few now dare take the tongs away from Cammie!). Also, many thanks to Melissa from GPI Automotive (NZ) Ltd who provided the Meguiars packs as prizes. Maybe next year the weather will be kinder? Here is hoping! Darryl Bretherton |
