Waste Oil Recycling Project

I received the following from the New Zealand Federation Of Motoring Clubs recently. How many of you have tins of old engine oil floating around in the back of your gararge? This sounds like a good idea.  NC.

As you may have heard, a new ‘free’ service has been launched in the Auckland region to offer home mechanics a safe and convenient place to dispose of used engine oil.

Aucklanders can now take their used engine oil in a sealed, leak proof container to any of the 21 drop off locations around Auckland – at any Repco store or to Total Oil in East Tamaki. We will be adding new locations as businesses volunteer  to become a drop off point.

The used oil service is a pilot project initiated by Auckland Council in partnership with the Ministry for the Environment and industry supporters. If successful, we hope to roll it out throughout New Zealand within three years.

If you have any queries, please contact me directly or visit our website www.oilrecycling.org.nz.
