| Motorkhana September 7 2008 University of Auckland Tamaki Campus The day started out with a cloud of dismayed weather, but the sun broke through as the tyres began to spin on the tarmac circuit. For my first Tarmac motorkhana I was quite impressed in the range in MG models, which closely spanned the age demographic of the competitors. A wide range of MG craftsmanship was evident in the day's activities, from Midgets, BGT's, a 1952 TD to the V8 B roadsters. Four tests were endeavoured, aiding entertainment for all. The slalom, modified pot belly, slingshot and the ever decreasing circles lived up to the challenge of testing the skill's of the driver and in some cases the circuit direction. A fun day enjoyed by all. Thank you to the University of Auckland Tamaki Campus and Andrew Walbran for organising the event. Audsley Jones |
