MG Race Series News

A Start at Hampton Downs on the 7th November
TACCOC has invited the MG Car Club to make up a grid of MGs for their Meeting at Hampton Downs, 7th November.

Andrew Walbran, our Club Captain and his Race Series Sub Committee will draw up the ''Regs" for what we hope will become an MG Race Series. If you asked to be kept informed about the Race Series you will be Emailed with more information as soon as it is available.

But whatever the "Regs" say, the basic intent is a grid of MGs only, of all ages from Pre War to more recent models. Whatever type of MG you own, it will be eligible for our series, provided the model was introduced at least fifteen years ago, so MGF's, for example, will (I believe) be eligible but will need roll over protection.

We are confident that speed differential will not be a safety problem – that's one reason why the concept is centred around only having MGs on the track. Our regular racers know the regular racers and which MGs are fast and which are not, and they know how to keep well clear of the less experienced drivers or slower cars. They are keen to encourage Club Members to have a go, and the last thing they will be trying to do is scare less experienced drivers off the track.

Geoff.
