The Club

The MG Car Club is the original club for MG owners! It was formed in 1930 by the MG factory in Abingdon, England, and has been providing top quality support and information for generations of MG owners ever since. Today, the MG Car Club has a worldwide membership of approximately 40,000 enthusiasts.

MG stands for sports cars, and sports cars mean sport, but you will find that the friendly and open atmosphere of the MG Car Club is second to none in motoring circles, both within New Zealand and around the world. Through the common bond of shared enthusiasm for the MG marque, you will meet people from all walks of life in a friendly atmosphere.

The Club's Auckland Centre was formed in 1958. Today the Auckland Centre covers the region from the Far North to Taupo, with approximately 500 members.

There are regular events to enjoy in your MG, with more than 90 organised Club events per year. From the purely social to full-on track racing, there's an event suitable for all types of MG and their owners! Check the Events menu for details of upcoming events.

Whatever your interest or age, from the vintage MG owner through to the modern MGF, MG6 or MG3 owner, we take a keen interest in all models of MG. The knowledge of their owners is fantastic, so if you have an issue or want to learn more about your MG, just ask!

If you do not currently own an MG but are interested in the Marque, membership is open to non-MG owners who have an interest in MGs and the Club. Similarly, membership does not cease on the sale of your MG - you will probably get another one anyway!

We look forward to welcoming you, and your MG, at a Club event soon!
